Instructional and Event Technology Lead
Assist the Associate Director with building and developing technology solutions. Support the team and participate in recruiting, selection and ongoing training and performance management initiatives for technical staff members. Provide team leadership including directing work, serving as technical expert level, act as the escalation point of contact, assign tickets, assign project resources, monitor and evaluate team performance. Serve on multiple project teams in a variety of roles such as Project Manager, Project Lead, Technical Lead or Client Lead, in support of established and emerging educational technology systems and services. Responsible to advise management on emerging technology setups, testing and verification of the solutions. Operate, maintain, troubleshoot and provide expert client services for the broad variety of established and emerging instructional and event media and computer technology. Maintain expert service levels for faculty, students and staff in all phases of curriculum and event requirements. This position may entail being on call and working evening, weekend and/or holiday hours, as needed.
5-8 years progressively responsible experience working in a technical support role. Experience with Lecture Capture technology is highly preferred. Master's Degree in related discipline preferred. Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) certification(s) preferred. Must hold a valid driver's license. Must be able to lift moderately heavy equipment (up to 50 pounds). Technical Expertise: Strong experience with audio visual systems and lecture capture technology required (Echo360 experience preferred). Equipment expertise includes LCD and/or DLP projectors, visual presenters, audio amplifiers and mixers, various audio and video switching devices and electronic control systems. Experience with sound reinforcement and lighting set ups. Experience maintaining and programming Crestron and Extron systems and equipment. Working knowledge of video streaming platforms, video network delivery methods, video presentation layers and technologies, video streaming protocols (i.e. RTP, UDP, RTSP, HLS, RTMP, MPEG-DASH), and video codecs (i.e. H.264, MPEG2, vp8, ProRes) required. Knowledge of TCP/IP LAN/wireless networking principles and application protocols, i.e. HTTP, HTTPS, SMTP and FTP. Working knowledge of media management systems such as Kaltura. Experience supporting computer hardware and software, including Windows and MAC operating systems, desktop business applications, various specialized applications, peripherals, and mobile devices. Experience with WordPress and web site content management and development.
