We currently have a vacancy for an Associate Lecturer to teach Java Programming to Software Engineers using a combination of teaching and lab work. In addition to teaching you will also be required to set assessment, assess and provide feedback - guidance and mentoring will be provided if required.
You will be able to:
- Introduce the paradigm of Object Oriented Programming (OOP) using Java to students who have previously undertaken the following topics - HTML, CSS, Php, MySQL, and Python.
- Reinforce Basic Concepts - Data structures (arrays and lists), comments, types, variable declarations, arithmetic and Boolean expressions and assignment.
- Introduce OOP concepts: objects, attributes, methods, classes, identity, references, polymorphism and inheritance.
Ideally you will possess a good relevant first degree with professional or academic qualifications at Masters level or equivalent commercial experience. You will demonstrate an in depth knowledge of the subject area and exceptional communication skills.
