Job Description

40% - Communication and Public Relations: Oversees the internal and external communication related to the BME Department mission, activity, and administration.  Acts as liaison between the director/Chair and the faculty in collecting and distributing information internally and externally. Develops and produces the department annual report, departmental newsletter and other publications, in collaboration with the Director and Chair, for internal and external distribution.

40% - Web Site Management: Maintains the content of the BME Department web site. Develops plans for updates with the Director, Chair and applicable faculty members. Consults with Engineering and University IT Departments for web site technical support and for providing clear and visually appealing presentation of web site content. Monitors, measures and evaluates web site’s effectiveness and consistently makes recommendations to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

20% - Seminar and Department Events: Provides advertising/marketing for departmental seminars and other events such as: senior project conference, faculty searches/new hires, lab/research center openings, or significant awards.

Required Skills

Bachelor's Degree is Required - Public relations, marketing or graphic design degree/experience is strongly preferred.
