Head of Creative Technologies and Performance and Curriculum Enhancement
£46,336 - £52,132 p.a.

You’ll be working in one of the UK’s leading performing arts institutions. We enjoy a global reputation for the quality of our teaching, our world class facilities and an enviable track record of graduate employment.

You will be responsible for the development of our new BA/MArts Creative Technologies and Performance degree programme commencing in September 2019. This will include, in the intervening period, contributing to marketing initiatives and ensuring that student recruitment targets are met. You will also work cross-institutionally to help develop the use of technology in performing arts education to enhance the whole of our curriculum.

The new programme explores creative expression and technological innovation. Students will be able to study and create Film and TV, write and develop content and learn how to apply digital practices to performance in a range of contexts within the entertainment industry. The programme seeks to develop innovative storytellers, filmmakers, creatives and technicians who use new digital visual and sensory technologies to deliver exceptional experiences for theatre, concert, film and online audiences.

After establishing the programme, you will then be responsible for providing not only the detailed vision and leadership but also for curriculum development, enhancement of teaching, learning and assessment, quality assurance and operational management.

We are looking for an experienced practitioner and educator with a specialism in an area of the programme to lead this exciting new development. You should have substantial knowledge of the relationship between digital media and performance for example, as a film or TV maker, writer or digital artist or technician and be able to drive forwards practices and approaches which are collaborative, cross platform and interdisciplinary.
You will be committed to the learning of others at undergraduate and, potentially, postgraduate level. A commitment to preparing students for sustained employment is essential. You will have strong industry/professional links and a successful track record of collaborative leadership and management of others.
