Employability and Placement Manager
The Faculty of Engineering, Environment & Computing is responsible for a large number of students studying courses across a diverse range of courses. EC Futures is a specialist unit managing and developing the Faculty's activities around employability and work placements for its students. Approximately 400 students from the Faculty undertake a sandwich placement each year in an area related to their degree course. They undertake an academic module while on placement.
The post holder will take a leading role in EC Futures. They will manage the team's activities in promoting placement opportunities and supporting students while they undertake placements. They will also oversee the contribution that EC Futures makes to delivery of employability related training in the three academic Schools in the Faculty. They will work closely with academic staff to manage a number of employability related modules.
The successful candidate will have significant relevant professional experience. Ideally they will be familiar with the HE sector and in particular arrangements for managing placements or work experience opportunities. They will have experience of leading a team as well as strong interpersonal and organisational skills.
