Principal Lecturer in Accounting
As an academic leader within the university, you will focus on innovation in and development of, the core activities of teaching and/or research. This role will provide the opportunity to specialise in preparation for further advancement to professorship or to senior management positions. You will be expected to contribute to the formation and implementation of strategic priorities of the university and to work across disciplinary and structural boundaries, where appropriate.You will also be expected to provide academic leadership at the School level,including links with other divisions across the university, and contribute to either teaching or research in the School in the first instance.
With significant experience in teaching in a similar environment, you will be able to demonstrate significant knowledge of your area of specialisation and you will ensure that the teaching for which you are responsible is informed by contemporary research in the relevant field and develops the ability of students to engage in debate, critical discourse and rational thinking.
Contributing actively to applied research groups or communities of practice internally and/or externally, you will be involved in bids and tenders for external projects or contracts, disseminating research outputs using a range of media and developing external networks nationally and/or internationally. It will be important to demonstrate a track record of delivering a research culture across the School.
With a PhD or professional equivalent, you will demonstrate extensive teaching experience at higher education level, with evidence of successful student learning outcomes.
