The Communications, Marketing and Engagement Division plays a key role in profiling and positioning the University of Waikato as a first choice among its diverse community, target and stakeholder groups. The Marketing and Recruitment team has made considerable advances in recent years, with strong growth in applications and enrolments, an improving brand perception and significant projects delivered. We are now looking for a new leader to take this team to the next level.

The Director, Marketing and Recruitment is responsible for the operation of the marketing, design, digital marketing, web, international marketing and future students teams. This is a significant role with a great opportunity to develop a high-performing team that will deliver critical outcomes for the University.

You will be a member of the University's Senior Leadership Team and work across the University to understand marketing and recruitment challenges and opportunities, translating these into clear strategic and tactical plans for the marketing and recruitment teams.

Providing leadership in engaging with internal and external audiences as well as developing and implementing strategies to meet application and enrolment targets, you will be responsible for developing and delivering high-quality activities, systems and relationships with key stakeholders that successfully attract students.

The successful candidate will be degree qualified and able to demonstrate extensive relevant experience delivering successful marketing and recruitment strategies. Higher education sector experience will be an advantage but not essential. You will have the ability to build high-level relationships with senior academics, secondary schools and other stakeholders including suppliers.

A competitive salary is on offer, dependent on qualifications, skills and experience.
