Job Description

Serve as a full-time lecturer/senior lecturer for the Core Curriculum. This is a distinctive program in the College of Arts & Sciences designed to integrate the study of the Humanities, Social Sciences and Natural Sciences and includes the study of classic ideas and texts. Responsibilities include teaching seminars across the broad-based humanities Core Curriculum; advising students; working with students in developing and completing Core Honors projects and plans of study for the Core Minor; participating in program service and activities, including writing workshops and cultural activities organized by the Core Curriculum; and continuing development as teacher and scholar.

Required Skills

Must have Ph.D. in literature, humanities (including specific language/history/culture focus) or a directly related discipline; demonstrated experience in conducting discussion sections and designing lectures on a broad range of topics in the humanities; and demonstrated research ability in the humanities, as shown by a peer-reviewed publication.
