The ARC Centre of Excellence for the Dynamics of Language (CoEDL)

The ARC Centre of Excellence for the Dynamics of Language (CoEDL - www.dynamicsoflanguage.edu.au) is an ambitious series of interlinked projects, focusing on language as a dynamic and variable system, and drawing on the full diversity of the world’s languages, through four programs focusing on the design space of language (Shape), how it is learned (Learning) and processed (Processing), and how linguistic structures evolve at various timescales (Evolution).

The role

The successful appointee will join an ongoing project undertaking research into the design of technology to support communication between people living with dementia and their carers which will involve tangible technology prototyping and project management. 

The person

Applicants should possess a PhD (completed or near completion) in Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, or a related field. Preferably your PhD would have been submitted prior to commencing in the position.  You should also have experience in research and design of technology for people living with dementia and experience in project management of interdisciplinary teams.

This role is a full-time position; however flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.

Remuneration

This is a full-time, fixed term appointment for 2 years at Academic level A. The remuneration package will be in the range $64,533 - $87,535 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $75,504 - $102,416 p.a.).
