Research Associate - Academic Faculties
We are seeking a Research Associate to contribute to an externally-funded research project, which aims to explore the attitudes and perspectives of parents/guardians around young people’s drinking. This research is part of a wider programme that aims to build on recent research conducted by the study team and public involvement to develop a new digital intervention to prevent excessive alcohol use and related harms among young people.
You will therefore contribute to the organisation and conduct of qualitative research and may also have an opportunity to support public involvement and/or the process of digital intervention development.
You will have previous experience of public health research relating to young people, as well as evidence of an interest in health behaviour or intervention development. You will also have substantial experience of conducting qualitative research, an ability to work independently, excellent organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail. A good first degree in a relevant discipline and postgraduate degree in a relevant area such as health behaviour, health promotion, or social research are essential. Since one element of the post may involve contributing to the design and development of a web intervention, previous experience of working with digital platforms, web design, or digital intervention research is desirable.
