Leeds Beckett University – University Secretary

We are seeking an outstanding professional to fill the role of University Secretary. Reporting to the Vice-Chancellor, you will be a key member of the University Executive Team and support the delivery of the University’s ambitious Strategic Plan. The University Secretary also works closely with the Chair and Board of Governors as Clerk to the Board. Here you will be responsible for ensuring the University is governed in accordance with the highest standards of probity and transparency. You will take the lead on legal, regulatory and constitutional matters, and corporate assurance and compliance.
You will be a senior leader who is comfortable with responsibility for an extensive portfolio, providing insightful advice on a range of critical issues, and with leading core service provision. You will have a deep knowledge and understanding of governance, compliance and regulation, and will be able to engage immediately with the new regulatory context for higher education. You will be highly organised, flexible and pragmatic; an excellent communicator; and with a genuine willingness to broaden your knowledge and influence. Company Secretary qualifications or equivalent, and legal experience is desirable.
