The Role

We are seeking an outstanding academic to join our staff as Lecturer/ Senior Lecturer in Psychology, with a particular expertise in quantitative research methodology for psychological science. We are seeking to build our capacity in the area of study design, data analysis from both primary and secondary sources, and to enhance our practices in open science. Expertise in qualitative methodology/mixed methods will be considered advantageous, but not required. Alignment of research interests with existing departmental priorities and strengths is strongly desirable. The person appointed will have a proven record of teaching, research and publication, appropriate to career stage. Appointment at Senior Lecturer level will require a substantial and internationally competitive record of research publication in leading international journals, along with a record of supervision of post-graduate research students, securing of significant external research funding, development of an international professional network of high standing and leadership in teaching and/or academic administration.

The person appointed will be expected to make a strong contribution to the teaching programme of the Department and undertake teaching duties on the Department’s undergraduate and postgraduate programmes as well as the supervision of Master’s and PhD students. The appointee will be expected to build a strong research profile, that supports the University’s research strategy including affiliating to the Research Institutes, where appropriate and working with colleagues on national and international research. The appointee will be expected to sustain and conduct research, engage in scholarship of quality and substance and generate publications of international standard.
