This Post is Full Time and Fixed Term for 8 months.

Earth Sciences seek to appoint a programme secretary on a fixed term basis to join the departmental administration team. The position will provide administrative support for the department’s undergraduate programmes through work with the Teaching and Learning Administrator and academic staff responsible for teaching and learning matters and for student progress. The Undergraduate Programme Secretary is responsible for the provision of a professional, efficient administrative service to both new and continuing students and to the department’s academic staff. The secretary takes responsibility for managing his/her own varied workload and for deciding on the appropriate delegation of tasks to a Modern Apprentice so as to maintain an excellent ‘front of house’ in the event of absence.

The successful candidate will be expected to work flexibly and proactively within a team, using their initiative to identify ways in which systems and procedures can be improved, as appropriate.
