Post Doctoral Research Associate in Machine Learning
A Post Doctoral Research Associate is sought with expertise in Machine Learning (in particular Deep Learning), Image Processing, and Computer Vision. The successful candidate will work within the project on processing, classification and understanding of imaging data under the guidance of Dr Boguslaw Obara.
The successful candidate will be based in the Department of Computer Science, Durham University - ranked in the top 5 for Computer Science, Times Good University Guide 2017/18 (Durham University ranked 4th overall). They may have the opportunity to contribute to aspects of departmental teaching at undergraduate level and will be expected to contribute to doctoral student supervision as appropriate.
In addition to published research output, the candidate can expect their research to have significant impact across a range of industrial collaborators. The post the offers an outstanding opportunity to gain a strong research track record in an exciting and fast-moving area of applied machine learning whilst working in an environment with high levels of external collaboration and industrial research impact.
This post is available to commence immediately and is initially a fixed term of 4 months. Extension would be dependent on future research income from the project sponsor(s) and/or other external funding sources.

The aim of this project is to conduct research relating to an automated image processing, classification, and understanding using Image Processing, Computer Vision, and Deep Learning approaches for image-focused applications in beauty and health industries.
