Research Associate (Wellcome Trust)
We are seeking to appoint a talented and enthusiastic researcher with a background in qualitative social sciences, health policy or mixed methods health research to work on an exciting new research project funded by the Wellcome Trust, ‘Regulating resistance, resisting regulation: New regimes to tackle drug-resistant infections in European and Asian healthcare systems’.
You will join a cross-disciplinary group of researchers working on antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in the Faculty of Health Sciences. The project is a comparative anthropological and policy study of the regulatory challenges posed by antimicrobial resistance (AMR), exploring the development and consequences of novel regulations aiming to limit antibiotic use and how they are evaluated.
You will have proven skills in qualitative data analysis and writing up findings. Knowledge or previous experience of working on applied health research using social science methods or international policy analysis would be advantageous. You will work in close conjunction with members of a small research team and their academic collaborators. You will also have opportunities to contribute to teaching and the development of a follow-on funding application using the project findings.
