Specifically, they have published in top research journals and have had their research featured in major news outlets such as Time, The Washington Post, and CNN.
SOSS is seeking a Senior Lecturer/Lecturer in the area of Psychology (area of expertise is open but we are especially interested in clinical/counseling psychologists because we are developing the first psychological practice program in the region). The appointee will be responsible for planning, teaching and coordinating courses, including research methods at the Undergraduate and Post Graduate level. The appointee will supervise Post-Graduate, Masters and/or PhD level students. He/She will establish and/or continue a strong programme of research and will deliver high standards of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in the area of Psychology.
The Person We Seek
To be considered for this position applicants must have:
- A PhD qualification in Psychology;
- A record of good relevant teaching experience and Post Graduate supervision at the university level;
- A solid research profile, including publications in peer-reviewed journals and books;
- Cultural knowledge of the Pacific Region.
For appointment at the Senior Lecturer level you must also have a strong record of published research in top-tier journals and books with either a formal tertiary teaching qualification or significant tertiary teaching experience.
Preference will be given to applicants who:
- Demonstrate excellence in teaching and research and have attained recognition in his or her area of specialisation in Psychology;
- A valid license/registration to practice psychology as a clinical or counselling psychologist;
- Excellent communication;
- A formal tertiary teaching qualification;
- And organisational and interpersonal skills.
The position is available for a term of 5 years and may be renewed by mutual agreement.
Salary Range: Senior LecturerF$90,882 to F$104,865 per annum
Lecturer F$66,990 to F$88,144 per annum
