Specifically, they have published in top research journals and have had their research featured in major news outlets such as Time, The Washington Post, and CNN.
SOSS is seeking a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in the area of Gender Studies. The appointee will be responsible for planning, teaching and coordinating courses at the Undergraduate and Post Graduate levels (including online courses). The appointee will supervise Post-Graduate, Masters and/or PhD level students and will facilitate the growth and development of the Gender Studies programme. She/he will establish and/or continue a strong programme of research and will deliver high standards of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in the area of Gender Studies.
The Person We Seek
To be considered for this position, applicants must have:
- A PhD qualification in Gender Studies or other areas related to gender issues;
- A record of good teaching experience and Post Graduate supervision at the university level;
- A solid research profile, including publications in peer-reviewed journals and books.
For appointment at the Senior Lecturer level you must have a strong record of published research in top-tier journals and books with either a formal tertiary teaching qualification or significant tertiary teaching experience.
Preference will be given to applicants with some knowledge of the gender issues in the Pacific Region.
The position is available for a term of 5 years and may be renewed by mutual agreement.
Salary Range: Lecturer F $66,990 to F$88,144 per annum
Senior Lecturer F $90,882 to F$104,865 per annum
In addition to the above benefits, the University contributes 10% of basic salary to an approved superannuation scheme, provides airfare and relocation costs where appropriate.
