Job Description
Boston University Academy is seeking a Physics and Math Instructor starting in August 2018. Responsibilities include teaching four sections total of honors-level ninth grade physics and honors-level high school math (Geometry, Calculus, Calculus 2, or Multivariate Calculus, depending on the candidate’s experience). Other responsibilities may include leading the eleventh grade STEM research seminar, advising STEM students in their senior thesis, or coaching the BUA Robotics team, Overclocked (http://www.bu.edu/bufirst).
Robotics coaching includes helping students prepare for annual competitions in FIRST Robotics and VEX Robotics leagues by overseeing daily after-school practices throughout the school year. The coach attends weekend competitions with the team (in late fall and early spring) and will also organize and oversee events for middle school students hosted by BUA
Required Skills
- At least 3-5 years’ experience teaching at an independent school or higher education setting is strongly preferred
- Advanced degree strongly preferred
- Robotics experience preferred
