The University of Hong Kong (HKU) is collaborating with Shenzhen Government to develop The University of Hong Kong-Shenzhen Hospital as a teaching hospital of HKU. With the presence of HKU, a new operation model for the Hospital will be introduced, aiming at providing high-quality services from primary to tertiary levels to patients in the region, whilst sustaining a teaching and training mission well supported by a robust research component. The Hospital has commenced operation since October 2012.

HKU-Shenzhen Hospital

Applications are invited for appointment as temporary part-time Consultant (Medicine) of the HKU-Shenzhen Hospital, tenable from as soon as possible, on a two-year basis. As the Hospital is located in Shenzhen, travelling to Mainland China is required. The selected candidate is expected to work one day per week.

Applicants should possess a medical degree registrable with the Medical Council of Hong Kong and a specialist qualification in Cardiology.

They should have proven capacity and potential, and a track record of active research; demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in clinical services and training; and have engaged in undergraduate teaching. The appointee should be fluent in Cantonese and English, and preferably Putonghua, although teaching, research and professional activities are conducted in English. He/She is expected to participate in the planning and delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, and conduct research in cardiology; and develop and provide regular clinical services in the Department of Medicine, Queen Mary Hospital and the HKU-Shenzhen Hospital; and contribute to administrative duties in the Department.
