The School of Medicine within the Faculty of Science, Medicine and Health is committed to producing excellent graduates who are committed improving the health of individuals, communities and populations and to conducting research with a focus on rural health, Indigenous health and social determinants of health.
This is a position identified for an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person who will lead the teaching and research in Indigenous health in the School of Medicine and provide leadership of the School’s Discipline of Indigenous Health including managing and supervising other staff.
The role includes leadership in teaching and learning of Indigenous health in the University of Wollongong medical curriculum and support for curriculum design and development in relation to the area of Indigenous health across the School of Medicine.
The position will have a key role in developing Indigenous health research. This position will develop and facilitate strong links between Graduate Medicine, School of Medicine, the Indigenous community, and staff of hospital and community-based health services.
