Senior Technical Assistant/Research Assistant I/II (several posts) in the Centre for Genomic Sciences (Ref.: 201800111) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

The Centre for Genomic Sciences (CGS) is an academic core laboratory established in 2002. Now under the management of the Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine at the University of Hong Kong, we are undergoing rapid expansion. The CGS hosts state of the art genomic and proteomic technology platforms. With a team of researchers and more than 30 highly trained and dedicated staff, we aim to provide leadership in genome research in Hong Kong and the region by developing expertise and infrastructure for studies in genomics, proteomics, and bioinformatics. Applicants should have an M.Phil., M.Sc. or B.Sc. degree in Biological Sciences, Biochemistry, Biotechnology or a related discipline. Fresh graduates are welcome. They should have a strong passion in science and technologies; be a fast-learner, self-motivated, responsible and conscientious; be able to work independently in a multidisciplinary environment; and possess a good command of spoken and written Chinese and English, and competency in MS Office applications. The appointees are expected to be trained to operate sophisticated scientific instruments to support core service and research.
