The Role and Your Responsibilities

The School of Design seeks a Lecturer who will contribute to the teaching and research efforts of the Digital Media discipline area as full-time Industry Fellow for 3 years. The Lecturer-Industry Fellow will be responsible for carrying out teaching activities and for maintaining and advancing their scholarly, research and/or professional capabilities relevant to the discipline.

You will be required to undertake activities in line with the university's research strategy that emphasises relevant and applied research to advance scholarship and professional engagement.

Skills & Experience Required

The successful candidate will have demonstrated ability to teach in the discipline area of digital media in the Bachelor of Design (Digital Media) program and significant industry experience in the practice and associated scholarship of digital media.

You will have industry based expertise in interactive digital media (e.g., web, apps, UX, UI design), or digital video (e.g., visual effects, compositing and/or motion graphics) or digital environments (e.g., projection mapping, virtual reality, augmented reality, installations). Experience in studio practice is highly desirable.

The successful applicant will be a skilled teacher, knowledgeable about the design and creation of digital media environments, artefacts or experiences, and demonstrate an ability to undertake research in their specific area of practice. The successful candidate should possess a demonstrated commitment to research and a collaborative work ethic.
