Job Description

The Associate Director, Human Resources and Faculty Actions provides strategic support for, manages, and oversees all personnel and payroll matters as they pertain to each of the employee categories within the school, including faculty, staff, temporary employees, and student employees. In collaboration with the Associate Dean for Finance & Administration and BU Human Resources, the Associate Director, Human Resources and Faculty Actions provides support and guidance to deans and managers for strategic staffing, recruitment, position management and evaluation, and performance management. This position serves as the primary manager of all personnel, faculty, and payroll data for employees, ensuring accuracy and timely entry. The Associate Director, Human Resources and Faculty Actions is the primary payroll coordinator for the school, reviewing and processing weekly and monthly payroll, as well as resolving payroll issues for all employees. This position serves as a faculty actions manager, working directly with Associate Deans, department heads, and their designates to manage and oversee all faculty actions pertaining to appointments, promotions, terminations, leaves of absences, and sabbaticals. Ensures compliance with relevant state and federal laws and regulations and University policies and procedures, and develops and/or contributes to the development of internal policies pertaining to all areas in the purview of the position.

Required Skills

Bachelors degree required. Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience required, preferably in an HR Generalist role. Strong process management, analytical, communication, organizational, and data management skills required. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to handle competing priorities and deadlines. Experience with SAP and SharePoint preferred. Higher education experience and/or experience in a unionized environment are a plus.
