The Athletic Trainer will provide sports medicine services to all student-athletes including, but not limited to evaluation, diagnosis, management, treatment, rehabilitation and intervention of injuries and illnesses. This position works closely with the Directors of Athletic Training Services, Head and Senior Athletic Trainers, Medical Director of Sports Medicine and team physicians, and Athletic Department and PERD personnel to ensure a safe and healthy environment is in place for the student-athletes. This position also provides sports medicine services for patients during clinic hours. This position is responsible for providing medical care during practices, games and tournaments, as assigned by the Head Athletic Trainers and Directors of Athletic Training Services. In addition this position has the responsibility of educating, supervising, mentoring and evaluating undergraduate and graduate students and ensuring an administratively effective medical unit.
Required: Masters Degree required. One to three years experience. CPR qualified for the Professional Rescuer (or equivalent)and AED certified, BOC certified in good standing, and licensed by the state of Massachusetts or eligible. Excellent written and oral communication. Preferred: Preferred CAATE accredited or accreditation eligible residency. Demonstrated area of expertise in neurotrauma and spine.
