Applications are invited for a Permanent Lecturer/Assistant Professor in the UCD School of Physics.
The School has a strong reputation for excellence in research and teaching, attracting students and staff of the highest international quality. It is one of the leading Schools of Physics on the island of Ireland.
The appointee is expected to undertake a research programme of international repute in experimental physics, in an area associated with the School's Centre for Physics in Health and Medicine. Your research will be in the broad field of Biophysics, with potential to impact on diagnostic or therapeutic applications in areas such as: Molecular Bioimaging, Radiation Physics, Neutron Scattering, Detectors or Atomic or Molecular Interactions. The successful candidate will actively seek funding at national and international levels, show leadership in building their research group, publish in high-quality peer-reviewed journals, supervise research students in our MSc and PhD programmes, and establish collaborations with research groups in the School of Physics or elsewhere in UCD and beyond. The School particularly welcomes applicants who will be competitive in applying for ERC grants or similar research funding.
The successful candidate will coordinate and deliver elements of the School’s BSc and MSc taught Programmes, including classroom and laboratory teaching, project and group-work supervision, as well as inter-programme teaching. The appointee will contribute to the enhancement of teaching, learning, assessment and the overall student experience.
95 Lecturer/Assistant Professor (above the bar) Salary Scale: €52,325 - €82,267 per annum
Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines
