Role Description

The TTE programme is aimed at technicians who are looking to get a first, great professional experience to further their career, or before they embark on advanced study programmes.

We welcome applications from talented technicians who will have the opportunity to work in a diversity of fields at the cutting edge of technology: electronics, electricity, mechanics, IT (including sysadmin/data centre technician), vacuum, cooling and ventilation, safety, radioprotection, survey engineering, are but a few of the examples of the many domains in which successful applicants will learn and contribute their knowledge.

Eligibility conditions

  • You are a national of a CERN Member State (link is external)

  • You have a Technical Diploma (link is external) in the field of mechanics, electricity, electronics, IT or safety

  • You have no more than 4 years relevant experience after finishing your diploma

  • Candidates who are currently preparing a diploma are eligible to apply. However, they are expected to have obtained their qualification by the time they take up their appointment at CERN

  • If you hold a higher level diploma (BSc, MSc..) you are not eligible, and therefore will not be considered. (however you may be eligible for the regular Fellowship, please check here (link is external))

  • You should have at least a basic knowledge of English or French

Selection Procedure All applications for TTE opportunities will be considered by a panel of CERN experts. The panel will meet once the deadline has passed. Successful applicants will be offered appointments which should begin within six months of the meeting.
