Applications are invited for appointments as (A) Tenure-Track Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor in Biogeography (Ref.: 201800289) (B) Tenure-Track Professor/Associate Professor in Climate Change (Ref.: 201800290) (C) Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in Tourism (Ref.: 201800291) (D) Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in Urban Planning (Ref.: 201800292) in the Department of Geography, to commence on July 1, 2018 or as soon as possible thereafter, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal and with consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second three-year fixed-term contract.

For post (A), applicants must have a Ph.D. degree in the fields of biogeography, soils or a closely related field. For post (B), applicants must have a Ph.D. degree in the field of climate change, with a secondary specialization in one or more of the following sub-fields: big data, environmental sustainability and resilience, geomorphology, and public health. For post (C), applicants must have a Ph.D. degree in tourism geography or a closely related field, with a focus on China. For post (D), applicants must have Ph.D. degree in urban planning or a closely related field, with a secondary specialization in one or more of the following sub-fields: quality of life, GIS and urban accessibility. For all posts, applicants should have extensive teaching experience, and a strong track record in reputable research grants and publications. The appointees are expected to teach at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, supervise research students, conduct research in the related fields, and assist in administration. Applicants for "Professor/Associate Professor" level should also possess strong academic credentials, outstanding academic leadership capabilities, extensive experience in conducting externally funded research projects, and a distinguished record of scholarship including editorship in internationally renowned journals; and will need to serve as mentor to junior professoriate staff if appointed. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to leave and medical benefits. The appointments will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary, as well as leave, and medical benefits.
