Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow in the Department of Sociology, to commence as soon as possible for a period of one year.
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Sociology, Social Media and Migration, or other related discipline; proficiency in written and oral communication in Putonghua and English; excellence in analytical evaluation and generation of practical solutions; familiarity with quantitative or qualitative analyses in social sciences research; and ability to work independently and as a team. The appointee will assist Professor Pun Ngai in planning, managing, coordinating, and implementing research activities on her Collaborative Research Fund (CRF) project on Social Media and Migration; oversee data collection, data analysis and draft reports; supervise Research Assistants; and perform any other relevant tasks as assigned.
He/She will have ample opportunities to work with research professionals, social media and migration professionals, as well as stakeholders in the community.
