Director of Online Education

London School of Theology is the largest interdenominational evangelical theological college in Europe with over 300 full-time and 1,000 distance learning students.  Students come from all over the world, from a wide variety of denominations and range in age from 18 to over 60 years.  This is an exciting time to join LST as we continue to grow the School, increase student numbers and continue with significant refurbishment and upgrade of our facilities and infrastructure.

LST is seeking to recruit a Director of Online Education with responsibility for the oversight and project management of all issues related to online provision. This position is the interface between Faculty, Administration and IT, reporting to the Academic Dean.

This postholder will work with the Academic Dean to develop and maintain all aspects of LST’s online delivery, including programme and course development, methods of delivery, and innovation in teaching and learning. In addition, they will support and develop the use of online tools to support on-campus teaching, including resources and assessment tools. 

The Director will oversee the quality and delivery of online courses in partnership with course developers and Programme Leaders, and support and train online tutors under the leadership of Programme Leaders and the Academic Dean. 

This is a 0.5 FTE Faculty post and includes up to 0.2 FTE (1 day per week) for levels 4, 5, 6, 7 lecturing, tutoring and pastoral care of students; research supervision for the L7 and Research programmes; and publishing peer-reviewed research.  

Occupational requirement: There is an occupational requirement for the post holder to be a practising Christian in accordance with the Equality Act 2010: Part 1, Schedule 9.

The role is expected to start 1st September 2018

Salary:                 £17,300 (£34,599 per annum FTE)
Hours:                 17.5 hours per week (0.5 FTE)
