Taylor’s University is one of the newest universities in Malaysia but we can trace our roots in higher education back to the establishment of Taylor’s College in 1969. In year 2020, we will mark our first decade as a University.
In this short time, Taylor’s has established itself as a world class university, in the top 200 in Asia, and as Malaysia’s leading private university. Taylor's University is home to 5 international peer reviewed journals of which, JESTEC (Journal of Engineering Science and Technology) is indexed in both SCOPUS and ISI Emerging Sources Citation Index, while SEARCH: The Journal of the South East Asia Research Centre for Communication and the Humanities is indexed in SCOPUS. Taylor’s also organises National and International Conferences in diverse areas such as Education, Hospitality & Tourism, Student Leadership, Communication, Big Data, Engineering, Food Science & Nutrition, Pharmacy and many more.

For 30 years, Taylor’s School of Hospitality, Tourism & Culinary Arts (TCHT) has been a leader in hospitality and tourism education and training. As the largest and most established hospitality and tourism management school in Southeast Asia, currently TCHT have 2,500 students, 90 staff as well as 4-training restaurants and a 84-bed training and research hotel on our campus. The industry-acclaimed diplomas and degrees in culinary arts, hospitality and tourism management are offered in collaboration with our renowned French partners – the Academie de Toulouse (ADT) and the University of Toulouse (UOT). TCHT also have the Centre for Research and Innovation in Tourism (CRiT), the research and consulting wing of Taylor’s University specialized in Tourism. CRiT were recently accredited by the French National Research Center (CNRS) as International Associated Laboratory (LIA).
Quality and commitment are reflected in the 150-plus awards the institution, faculty and students have received over the years. TCHT was awarded the highly coveted ‘Tier 6: Outstanding’ rating in the Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education’s Discipline-Based Rating System (D-SETARA) in 2012 and awarded full accreditation by the International Centre of Excellence in Tourism and Hospitality Education (THE-ICE) - sealing its international reputation for superior quality as well as teaching and learning excellence.
- PhD holder with relevant teaching / industry experience
- Recent and significant record of publication in C.I journals (e.g. ISI, SCOPUS, ERA)
- Proven track record of securing funding for research and / or consultancy work
- Demonstrated teaching and mentoring excellence through graduation of PhD and / or Masters students
- Impactful academic profile evidenced by:
- citation indices,
- approved patents / inventions / copyrights,
- external examiner experience, invitation to national / international representation as speaker / editor-in-chief / reviewer
