  • Salary range: $85,680 - $91,969 per annum (plus super)

About the Job 

Through conceptualising and conducting original research, analysis and development independently, you will contribute to the research efforts of the School of Information Technology and Mathematical Sciences (ITMS). This will also include contributing to an ARC Discovery Grant, as well as an industry funded project in Robotic Vision. The Research Associate will be involved in designing software algorithms and performing numerical experiments for machine learning research, and under the direction of Associate Professor Mark McDonnell, you will also provide support to students.

Skills and Experience 

You will have a PhD in computer science, applied mathematics, physics or electronic engineering along with evidence of high quality research outputs. Demonstrated skills and experience in designing, implementing and testing deep convolutional neural networks and associated algorithms for computer vision problems are also essential.  Strong communication and project management skills and the ability to work cooperatively in a research team with staff and students will also ensure success in this role.
