Assistant Lecturer in Criminology

We are now looking to appoint an enthusiastic and teaching-focussed Assistant Lecturer in Criminology. The post holder would contribute to the provision of high quality criminology teaching, marking and student support, alongside supporting the course team with the administration of modules and the BA Criminology course.You will join a dynamic, highly regarded and student-centred team of colleagues in delivering our courses.
As these are teaching-focussed roles we are particularly interested in receiving applications from applicants with experience of delivering teaching and/or professional training, setting and marking assessments and supporting students within higher education settings. Your teaching approach will be flexible, student-centred and research informed. As the role willalso require you to develop and maintain productive relationships with placement providers, employers and other stakeholders, you will need a high level of inter-personal skills, and personal effectiveness to promote a high quality experience for all our stakeholders. You will have a strong commitment to continuing professional development and to inter-professional and international perspectives.

The Faculty of Health and Life Sciences has strong partnerships with employers and placement providers from a range of sectors including Local Authority Social Services, Strategic Health Authorities, NHS Trusts, education, and the independent, voluntary and the private sectors. Applied research activity is an integral part of the Faculty's business and there is a strong commitment to enabling staff to engage in a wide range of research and scholarship.
Applicants must hold a master's qualification in an appropriate subject and experience of delivering in an educational setting.
Coventry University offers academic support and professional development support and provides the opportunity for staff without a recognised teaching qualification to undertake the PGCE.
