The Research Grants and Contracts Team, located within the Research and Innovation Office, provides expert advice, guidance and administrative support to Murdoch University’s research community in the development of applications for funded research, contract negotiation and post-award administration.
To be successful in this role you will have the ability to manage the administration supporting the negotiation and approval of University‑wide research contracts and agreements. You will work closely with Murdoch’s research community and external stakeholders in the preparation of contracts and variations to ensure a smooth and timely delivery of services that reflect the needs of the University, the funders and our collaborators. You will develop and maintain accurate tracking systems, facilitate sign-off of documentation by both internal and external parties, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our systems, resources, and processes.
Skills and Experience
The Research Grants and Contracts Team needs a well organised person to join our team. We are looking for someone who can work diplomatically and patiently with our wide number of internal and external stakeholders. To be successful you will need to demonstrate a high level of interpersonal, consultation and communication skills and the ability to work under pressure. You will oversee data integrity matters and have the ability to understand and manage key information within research contracts that is relevant to processing those agreements. You will have highly developed workflow, organisational and time management skills.
The preferred candidate will have a tertiary degree with relevant experience in a University environment, ideally in research support. Candidates with experience in research funding agreements will be highly regarded.
