We are seeking an experienced academic to lead our new Institute of Education, and to raise our profile for world-class teaching, research and professional development relating to teachers, children and schools. Our ideal candidate will have an inspiring vision for the development of teacher education in a changing policy context, a strong Research and Knowledge Exchange profile, and proven successful leadership in the field of higher education.

Initial Teacher Education at Winchester is Outstanding (Ofsted, 2018) and the University has Silver TEF status. The Faculty of Education, Health and Social Care’s programmes were ranked in the top 10 universities in England for overall satisfaction in NSS 2017, and 60% of our research outputs submitted to REF 2014 were judged to be either world-leading or internationally excellent.
