Opportunities have arisen to appoint academic staff within the Social Work team. Over many years, we have developed an exciting approach to Social Work and Social Care training based on a combination of distance and work-based learning; and working in partnership with employers. You will be joining us at an exciting time as we have just commenced our Pg. Dip in Social Work and we are actively working to be an early adopter of the Degree Apprentice: Social Work.

If appointed, you will make a major contribution to the maintenance of the Social Work Degree courses; contribute to new curriculum developments and if you meet the eligibility criteria for Senior Lecturer, you will have opportunity to take on academic leadership roles within Social Work.

You must hold a relevant professional qualification registered with your regulatory body; demonstrable academic study at least to Masters level (if applying for Senior Lecturer post then a PhD or equivalent is needed), and you must demonstrate understanding of policy and practice issues across the social work and social care field.  You will need an understanding of supported open and distance learning and demonstrate an ability to write clearly for diverse audiences. To be appointed at Senior Lecturer grade, you will bring experience of prior face to face or open and supported teaching and learning.
