The Role

The Director will provide strategic leadership to the University in all HR matters and lead the efficient and effective operations of a contemporary HR Department. The Director will be a trusted advisor to senior leaders in the University through managing HR risks, promoting an organisational culture of respect and collegiality and ensuring that equity is embedded in all aspects of the Department's activities and practices.

Reporting to the University Registrar, the successful applicant will be an HR professional with extensive experience across all aspects of the HR function, a strong strategist with excellent communication skills and a sophisticated change manager. The role requires an outstanding leader who can inspire and lead the HR team, build capability across the organisation and demonstrate experience of managing an HR function in a large, complex organisation. The successful applicant will have a track record of developing a consultative industrial relations environment,with a sound understanding of legislative and regulatory frameworks.A tertiary qualification is required, preferably at postgraduate level in an HR related discipline.

This appointment is fixed-term for five years (renewable). An attractive remuneration package will be negotiated with the successful candidate.
