Founded in 2002, MVBT delivers three core revenue generating specialities of: Leisure, Business and 24 hour Emergency Assistance.  Meon’s customers range from Private Clients, Global Brands, SMEs, Corporates and multi-national Insurance and Assistance providers worldwide. 

An exciting opportunity to work as a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) Associate has arisen as part of a 24-month KTP with Cranfield University.  This project offers the opportunity to take on research challenges in the application of big data to support the travel industry.  The successful candidate will also enjoy a personal £4,000 development budget.

As a KTP Associate, you will work in conjunction with the Manufacturing Informatics Centre at Cranfield University. The Centre works with industry to overcome barriers to using ICT and deliver proven systems of modelling, simulation and automation in both manufacturing and service environments.

In this role the associate will lead the development of an Internet Service Platform (ISP), addressing the International Air Transport Association's (IATA) New Distribution Capabilities (NDC) regulatory standards for XML based communication that will provide customers with a connected buying experience embedded into any travel movement. This role will involve the development of Big Data and associated data management systems along with experience in data analytics and data mining. Experience of managing technology led projects will be required in this role and experience of machine learning techniques and web development knowledge will also be desirable.

This role requires a Masters level degree in a Computer Science /Statistics related subject, together with data analytics knowledge in Big Data environments and data mining practice along with computer programming skills in a modern OOP language such as Java, C++, C#. Knowledge of machine learning techniques as well as Web service development will also be desirable in this role. This role would suit an individual with good team working skills and an ability to communicate complex ideas and concepts effectively for complex systems development projects.
