We put students at the heart of the University and are committed to enhancing the student experience and delivering excellence in teaching and learning. Working closely with the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, members of the University’s Executive and Senior Management Group, you will support the strategic leadership of the University’s Education Strategy and drive performance to achieve transformational change. You will contribute personally to building the University’s reputation and ranking through the excellence of your own research, and also by delivering excellence in teaching and learning.
Working within the Academic Registry, and reporting to the Deputy Vice Chancellor, you will be responsible for managing a small team of staff whose focus is on delivering enhancement initiatives. You will be passionate about the student experience, knowledgeable about the TEF and new regulatory changes in the Sector, and be able to demonstrate experience of delivering effective leadership of teaching and the student experience. There is no prescribed discipline for this role; we welcome applications from any discipline which align to one of Northumbria’s faculties and departments. Your role will prioritise enhancement initiatives but you will also engage within your discipline to maintain your teaching and research profile.
You will hold a PhD or equivalent in a relevant discipline and developed an excellent publication and research track-record, or industrial equivalent. As well as having a strong publication record and evidence of ability to generate research income, you must have the ability to empower people in a professional environment.
