Trinity College Foundation Studies is one-year course that prepares around 2,000 overseas students for undergraduate entry into the University of Melbourne and other leading Australian Universities. The program equips them with the intellectual, linguistic and cultural skills necessary for success at university.

Psychology is an elective component of the program that aims to introduce students to a broad range of psychological theories and principles that attempt to explain human behaviour, as well as the diversity of human experience in different situations and environments. The tutor will provide a set curriculum which focuses on topics such as scientific theory and critical thinking, biology of the mind, child development, adolescence and adulthood, learning, intelligence, personality, social psychology, psychological disorders, therapy and stress and health.

We are inviting dynamic, energetic, and vibrant applicants who have a minimum of 2 years demonstrated experience teaching in Psychology at high school, Foundation Studies or University level. Applicants must have demonstrated experience in curriculum development, innovative and inspiring course delivery and be able to work independently as well as collaboratively with other Psychology staff to prepare new tutorials, review existing materials, and contribute to assessment requirements. Demonstrated experience in the preparation and delivery of Psychology lectures, as well as substantial experience in working with international students, would be highly regarded.  

On offer is a fixed term contract position as a Psychology Tutor, working a 0.7 workload commencing immediately until 14 December 2018, with the possibility of ongoing work. The successful candidate would be required to deliver 7 repeat 1.5 hour tutorials per week and be available to work the following days: Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9.30 – 5.30 pm and Tuesday 9.30-1.00 pm.

Applicants must have a relevant tertiary qualification, relevant experience and a demonstrated dynamic approach in the classroom with evidence of excellent student feedback. It should also be noted that this is not a research position.

Salary Range: Level B2 – C1 FTE $69,134 - $79,595 plus 10% superannuation and 17.5% leave loading
