About the job

Reporting directly to the Manager: Student Life, the Coordinator: Communication and Events leads the development of the Student Engagement Unit’s (SEU’s) student communication plan, and project manages the development and delivery of a range of innovative and dynamic student facing events and campaigns, with a key focus on those that are part of the University’s orientation program.

The role provides strategic leadership and expertise within the unit and to division based student experience and orientation staff about best practice communication models, tools, platforms, and the use of social media. The role is also responsible for the development and monitoring of systems and frameworks that support effective measures of student engagement and drives continuous innovation in the delivery of student-facing events and activations across the University.

Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will have tertiary qualifications in communications, event management (or related fields) or demonstrated equivalent skills, knowledge and experience through working in a communications and events related position. You will have highly developed organisational and project management skills including the ability to manage multiple projects and research best practices in a demanding and complex environment. You will also have demonstrated experience in the development and management of communication plans as well as experience in the design and application of events in a University setting.
