The Monash Institute of Cognitive and Clinical Neurosciences (housed within the School of Psychological Sciences) provides an exceptional research environment for discoveries that change of our understanding of the brain. Through excellent research and training, a wide network of international partners and strong industry engagement MICCN lays the foundation for a pipeline of discovery in areas of critical importance of the human brain and see that knowledge translated into the clinic, the workplace and the community. The School of Psychological Sciences is seeking a highly motivated Researcher (Level B or C pending experience and qualifications).
Reporting to the Research Director, this position will generate research relevant to one or more of MICCN’s Integrated Research Programs, ‘Addiction’, ‘Attention and Memory’ and ‘Sleep’, or to our emerging strength in ‘Computational Neuroscience’, leveraging specialist expertise within these areas. You will have access to career and proposal development to craft competitive funding applications, with a view to securing an externally funded fellowship such as an Australian Research Council Fellowship or a National Health and Medical Research Council Investigator Grant or international award.
As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for:
- conducting of research either as a member of a team or independently and the production of high-quality publications from that research
- supervision of research-support staff and guidance in the research effort of junior members of research-only Academic staff in their research area
- administrative functions primarily connected with the area of research
- occasional contributions to the teaching program
