Founded in 1966, our mission is to practise engaged scholarship, combining teaching and research excellence with the practical and entrepreneurial approach pioneered by our namesake, Isambard Kingdom Brunel.

Brunel Business School is a major part of the University. The School won the Times Higher Education (THE) Best Business School of the Year award in 2013 and has experienced significant progress in its research activity placing it number 12 among UK Business Schools in terms of ‘research power’ (Association of Business Schools ranking, 2015) and in the top 20 in terms of ‘research intensity’ (THE ranking, 2015).
The Globalisation, Entrepreneurship, and Strategy (GES) Division is an intellectually stimulating, creative and research-driven Division that combines expertise in the areas of organizational creativity and innovation management, new venture creation, corporate entrepreneurship, and entrepreneurial finance.

In line with our growth strategy, we are seeking to appoint either a Senior Lecturer, Reader or Professor in the area of Enterprise and Entrepreneurship to support existing and new programmes as well as advance understanding in key areas such as strategic management, international business, innovation, and knowledge management. We are looking for enthusiastic and highly motivated individuals to join the GES Division and the Strategy, Entrepreneurship and International Business (SEIB) Research Group who can make a significant contribution to the implementation of our research, teaching and learning strategy. The SEIB Group has an international reputation in its key areas of research; members have published in 4-star ‘World Elite’ and 4-star journals, and have attracted research funding from bodies such as the British Academy, ESRC, and the Leverhulme Trust. Teaching duties will include contributing effectively to the MSc programmes in Management and International Business, as well as to the undergraduate, AMBA-accredited MBA, and PhD programmes.

Applicants for the Senior Lecturer post must possess a Doctorate in a relevant field. They should also have an active research profile in the subject area including journal publications in ABS 3-star and 4-star journals and be experienced in teaching Strategy and International Business or related business subjects to a high standard and able to demonstrate effective and innovative teaching practice at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The appointee will have experience in developing online learning activities for blended courses.

For a Reader/Professor appointment, applicants should have, in addition, substantial experience in programme management and development, dealing effectively with quality assurance and compliance processes, and a publication record in top-tier journals, as well as a record of income generation. In addition, substantial experience in nurturing and supporting young scholars. The role holder will be expected to support the Business School’s research and knowledge exchange efforts, and undertake some academic and managerial leadership within the School.

The candidate will also be expected to participate in at least one of the College research centres, Entrepreneurship and Sustainability and Global Lives, or a University Research Institute.
