Academic Outreach Officer, Research Communication Services

About the role

This is an exciting new role at the world’s single-largest provider of science communication services to universities, publishers, and researchers globally. Research Communication Services is a growing portfolio at Editage that aims to closely harness and serve the need of the global research community to disseminate research for deeper real-world impact.

You will spearhead efforts to better understand and meet evolving science communication needs and expectations of research institutions, research groups, and funders in the UK. You will report to the University Director and work closely with Head, Research Communication Services, to cultivate an emerging market by gathering insights from a spectrum of research stakeholders and applying them, with the ultimate goal of positioning Editage as the premier science communication partner in the UK.

Position is based out of the UK with national travel demands and occasional weekend work. Working hours are flexible within reason. 


  • Previous experience working in/with academia, funding (public and/or private), public engagement (institutional Research Impact teams, Communications and Marketing teams, Public Engagement bodies) 
  • Warm connections in the UK university and research funding space
  • Deep understanding of research funding systems like REF and funding instruments like COST or Horizon2020, especially in UK and Europe
  • Industry ties and experience in content marketing and project management preferable
