The Health, Safety and Emergency Management unit of People and Capability are responsible for increasing the capability and capacity of the University to maintain and enhance safe work/study environments for staff, students and operations. Through engaging expertise from the Workplace Safety and Emergency Management functions, the unit works to advance and develop a safety culture across the University. It leads the University’s preparedness for, response to and recovery from emergencies and disasters. 

As the Senior Safety and Emergency Consultant you are responsible for providing OH&S Consulting, Site Audits, and Risk and Project Management Services across the University. This includes the management and maintenance of the University’s electronic reporting process for accidents, incidents and near misses as well as management of other SEW concerns from stakeholders. Working closely with the Health, Safety and Emergency management team you will help deliver a holistic safety and emergency management service to the CDU community.

To be successful, you require a postgraduate degree or equivalent qualifications in Emergency Response, Safety or Health and demonstrated knowledge of legislation and regulations related to Work Health, Safety and Emergency response.
