Lecturing within the Construction Management and Quantity Surveying Area
About the position
The Faculty of Society & Design is inviting expressions of interest for casual lecturing within the Construction Management & Quantity Surveying area. Undergraduate subjects are delivered Monday to Wednesday on a weekly basis, with postgraduate subjects delivered via an intensive three day residential; occurring twice per semester. The appointments would suit highly qualified locally based professionals. Consideration will also be given to those who are able to attend on a ‘fly-in fly-out’ basis for the intensive sessions.
These appointments will commence from Semester 2, May 2018 onwards.
About the person:
The successful appointees will contribute to the Faculty’s teaching profile, engage in professional and industry liaison and provide student support within the Faculty. The Faculty welcomes experienced industry professionals who have the ability and the desire to communicate their skills through teaching the industry participants of the future.
Experts are sought for lecturing in the fields of building measurement, construction technology, contract administration, cost planning, estimating, construction contracts as well as building/engineering services. The successful applicants will hold a PhD or Master’s degree in a relevant field and/or have extensive relevant industry experience. Membership with a relevant professional body such as the RICS or Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors, or eligibility for such membership would be desirable.

Remuneration for the appointments will be in accordance with the University Academic Casual rates, depending on qualifications and experience.
