The school of Trades consists of five teams which are spread over three campuses within the Northern Territory. The teams within the School of Trades are Electrotechnology, Automotive and Civil, Metal Trades and Engineering, Building Technology and Trades Central.
The Trades Central team is located in Alice Springs and provides nationally accredited training to apprentices and trainees, pre-apprentice students and existing workers. Training is delivered in the major discipline areas of Light Vehicle Mechanic, Automotive Air Conditioning, Carpentry and Construction, Plumbing, Welding and Fabrication, Electrotechnology, Resource and Infrastructure, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning and Civil Training.
As Business Development and Operations Manager you hold a key leadership position with the School of Trades. In providing a strategic focus you are required to develop and implement a sustainable business development model and training plan that ensures growth, continued strength, and market position of Trades Training in the Central Australian region.
A secondary function of your role is to ensure the smooth operation and use of facilities and resources required for use by the School of Trades in Alice Springs, as well as the effective management of your administrative support team.
To be successful you must provide evidence of education, training and relevant experience equivalent to the completion of a post graduate qualification in business, or other relevant industry qualification, coupled with excellent written and verbal skills along with high level presentation and business planning capability.
Essential to this role is your demonstrated ability to develop and manage strategic partnerships and stakeholder engagement, along with your experience in leading a project team to achieve desired outcomes. Experience in business development and relationship management within the Vocational Education and Training industry will be well-regarded.
