The Business School at the University of Aberdeen is seeking to appoint up to two positions in Accountancy. We have a preference for Teaching and Research staff to contribute to the research culture in the School, including strengthening our REF profile and supervising PhD students.  However, individuals with extensive professional experience are also welcome to apply along the Teaching and Scholarship track.  

The School offers Accountancy programmes both at the undergraduate (UG) and the postgraduate-taught (PGT) level. The post holder will contribute teaching to these programmes. The post holder may also deliver teaching in our growing portfolio of online programmes as well as in our international campuses and programmes (e.g. China and Qatar). 

While we want a candidate who can cover core teaching areas in Accountancy, we are happy to consider any research specialisms within the Accountancy area including interests in management accounting, financial accounting, tax and/or audit.

The Business School is in an exciting and ambitious phase of its development. While proud of the University’s 500-year history, the Business School is a core part of the University’s plans for the future and is committed to increasing its profile. As an integral part of its growth strategy, the School has initiated a plan to earn accreditation from the three main international accrediting agencies in the coming years. The Business School comprises of several related disciplines: Accountancy, Economics, Finance, Management and Real Estate. A strong research ethos runs throughout the School, highlighted by the success in our submissions to the Business and Management and the Architecture, Built Environment and Planning panels in REF2014. It offers UG programmes across the range of disciplines. The School is also home to a growing suite of PGT degrees from traditional MBA and MSc degrees in Accountancy and Finance and in International Business Management to more unique offerings such as our MSc in Finance and Investment Management which is integrated with the CFA Level 1 exam, the MSc in Petroleum, Energy Economics and Finance, and our new fully online programmes such as the MSc in Digital Marketing Leadership, MBA (Global) and MSc in Finance.

For appointments made at Lecturer Level, salary will be at the appropriate point on the Grade 7 salary scale (£39,992 - £47,722) with placement according to qualifications and experience.

For appointments made at Senior Lecturer Level, salary will be at the appropriate point on the Grade 8 salary scale (£50,618 - £56,950) with placement according to qualifications and experience.
