Position Overview

A major career advancement opportunity exists for a highly motivated and experienced Finance leader to join the Joint Colleges of Science (JCS) administration group, with oversight of the budgeting and financial operations of the ANU College of Health and Medicine and the ANU College of Science. The JCS Finance Manager provides expert strategic and financial advice to the College Executives and develops the annual recurrent budget for the Joint Colleges. Leading a team of 20, the JCS Finance Manager supervises the provision of a full range of financial administrative support services to the JCS community and monitors the financial performance of all budget units, while establishing relationships of trust and confidence across a broad range of stakeholders.

The successful applicant will possess extensive experience in the leadership of a team of highly skilled professionals in a dynamic and often pressured environment. They will have exceptional consultation, negotiation and influencing skills with the ability to advise on the strategic financial direction of the Joint Colleges of Science. They will have a demonstrated record of accomplishment in the preparation and analysis of financial management reports, including the ability to provide senior management with concise interpretive analysis identifying key elements of financial results.  As part of the JSC administration leadership team, they will model the highest standard of leadership behaviours through coaching, mentoring and managing staff and providing responsive communication.
