The Faculty of Engineering and Information Sciences is a research intensive Faculty with extensive teaching operations in Australia, Asia and the Middle East. It has approx. 5000 undergraduate & postgraduate students onshore and offshore, and approximately 353 academic/research/professional staff. The School of Mechanical, Materials, Mechatronic and Biomedical Engineering, which is one of the top Engineering Schools in Australia, is committed to research and teaching excellence through its world-class undergraduate and postgraduate programs in a range of exciting technological areas.

This position will play a key role in the field of Advanced Manufacturing and Design for Biomechanical Systems. Research expertise coupled with any of the following sub-fields is highly preferred, but not mandatory: design theory, design for manufacturing, sustainable and green manufacturing, simulation and data science techniques including machine learning for manufacturing and design, fluid power control, biomechanics, medical robotics and devices, bio-instrumentation, machine dynamics and mechanisms, thermo-fluid science, automation and control. This position is expected to teach at all levels of the curriculum including the team-taught introductory engineering subjects and specialised subjects in mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, mechatronic engineering.

This position will be expected to establish a vigorous research program that complements and enhances the extensive interdisciplinary engineering network at the University of Wollongong and play an important role in the development of the teaching and research programs.
