Associate Dean, Global

The Associate Dean (Global) will provide leadership of the TSBE’s international activities. The position is responsible to the Executive Dean of the TSBE, in association with the CMT, to provide the strategic leadership that ensures the School meets the objectives, priorities, targets and quality detailed in Open to Talent and associated annual plans, in consultation with the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Global.
This will be achieved through participating in, leading and facilitating the University’s global strategy, and in doing so, enhancing the TSBE’s profile internationally; contributing to the development of strategically relevant international partnerships; assisting to facilitate academic input into the recruitment and application conversion process for diverse, high quality international students, and fostering staff and student mobility.
Applicants will have a PhD in a relevant field and a demonstrated ability to lead strategic planning and implementation and measure achievement against agreed targets. A thorough knowledge of the Australian tertiary education sector, higher education policy environments, especially as they relate to international education, as well as a high level understanding of education systems in target countries overseas and recent developments and trends in the field of international education are considered essential.
Based in Hobart, the appointment is continuing (tenured) and the Associate Dean (Global) role is fixed term for up to three years.
Appointment to this role will be at either Academic Level D or Academic Level E.
Appointment to Academic Level D will have a total remuneration package of up to $172,089 comprising base salary with the range of $134,000 to $147,085 plus 17% superannuation.
Appointment to Academic Level E will have a total remuneration package of up to $200,169 comprising base salary of $171,085 plus 17% superannuation.
